Photography didn't kill painting. The personal computer didn't kill design — it transformed it, expanded it, and ultimately clarified what a trained designer could do with these tools. Every technical revolution in creative fields follows the same arc: anxiety, redistribution of tasks, then the revelation of what human expertise produces that the machine — itself produced by humans — cannot produce alone.

The Designer’s Code of Ethics: Good for You, Good for Your Clients, Good for Everyone

I was invited to speak at the kick-off of the magnificent Luxembourg Design Festival on November 12, 2025, to discuss the genesis of the professional designer’s code of ethics created by the Alliance France Design. A meaningful symbol! During the event, I essentially said that “ethics is good for business.” After three inspiring days of festival and a festive Awards ceremony, I’d like to expand on that idea here.

Looking Back at the National Convention of Art and Design Schools, Marseille 2025

From November 4 to 7, 2025, I was invited to speak at the Assises nationales des écoles d’art et de design(National Convention of Art and Design Schools), organized by ANdÉA and hosted by the Beaux-Arts de Marseille, representing the Alliance France Design. This event, marking the association’s 30th anniversary, gathered the entire French art and design education ecosystem around the theme “Tomorrow’s Art School: Horizon 2050.”
